The One Health Clinic in Seattle, Washington, represents a pioneering model of integrated care that serves both people and their pets as a family unit. Developed through a collaboration between the University of Washington’s Center for One Health Research and community partners, the clinic provides coordinated medical, behavioral, and preventive services for humans and animals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. This approach recognizes that the well-being of people and their companion animals is deeply interconnected, addressing shared barriers such as access to care, mental health, and public health concerns. Participants will learn how One Health Clinics bridge the gap between veterinary and human healthcare systems, reduce stigma, and strengthen trust within vulnerable communities. The session will also highlight how this model fosters compassion, dignity, and stronger human–animal bonds through truly collaborative care.
