This 90-minute panel will explore emerging consensus recommendations and practical approaches to safe, ethical animal-assisted services in healthcare. Five professionals will share insights on handler preparation, animal screening and ongoing evaluation, infection prevention, risk management, and animal welfare. Drawing on a collaborative best-practices project and their own experience with visiting and facility dog programs, panelists will discuss how to translate recommendations into everyday practice, followed by an audience Q&A.
