Animal-assisted education as a benefit for humans and animals: a question of attitude? Research findings concerning schools and education involving dogs

The webinar focuses on the perspectives of pupils, teachers and animal welfare in an educational environment involving dogs. Bringing these perspectives together provides an overall picture of the opportunities and challenges in animal-assisted education and ‘best practices’.

Dr. phil. Mona Mombeck is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Paderborn. Her doctoral thesis focuses on school dogs. She teaches and conducts research on inclusion and human-animal studies and develops educational programmes involving dogs. Mona Mombeck is also a certified dog trainer and takes an inclusive, needs-based approach in her work with people and non-human animals.
