Kathryn Cyr is a researcher and communications professional focused on family wellbeing, with a focus on maternal and perinatal mental health. Pivoting from a career in crisis and reputation communications, Kathryn completed an MSc in the Psychology of Mental Health at the University of Edinburgh and served as a Family Wellbeing Practitioner in underserved areas of Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2024, she moved back to her native Washington, DC. Alongside honorary research with the University of Edinburgh, she is currently a Communications Officer at the Aspen Institute in the Ascend program, which works across systems, policy, and sectors to build intergenerational family prosperity.
