This is the 4th module in a 4-part certificate program offered by HEAL at the University of Colorado Anshutz. Attendance and participation in all 4 modules can lead to a certificate of completion.
This module introduces the socio-ecological model as a framework for understanding and addressing healthcare inequities. Participants will learn how individual, interpersonal, community, and systemic factors interact to shape access, engagement, and health outcomes. Using this model, we will identify points of influence where interventions can make a meaningful difference. Examples will be drawn from healthcare and public health to illustrate multi-level approaches. By the end of the session, learners will be able to apply the socio-ecological model to evaluate challenges and design strategies for positive change.
