DEI Training: The HEAL Foundations Certificate Program Module 1

This is the 1st module in a 4-part certificate program offered by HEAL at the University of Colorado Anshutz. Attendance and participation in all 4 modules can lead to a certificate of completion.
Module 1 This module introduces participants to the historical and structural factors that shape healthcare access and outcomes in the United States. We will examine how systemic inequities, policies, and social determinants of health have contributed to persistent disparities across communities. Key terms and definitions will be reviewed to establish a shared language and understanding. Participants will also explore case examples that illustrate how these dynamics play out in real-world healthcare settings. By the end of the session, learners will have a solid grounding in the foundational concepts necessary for further exploration of equity and access in healthcare.
