Dena DeSantis, LCSW, is a third-year doctoral student at the University of Alabama, School of Social Work, currently researching best practices of accredited assistance dog organizations around supporting clients through the loss of their assistance dog. Dena is also working toward completing certification in Veterinary Social Work through the University of Tennessee. This is her second term with the section as a Student Representative, with a focus on increasing social media engagement.
