Cassandra (Cassi) Lyon, PhD is a lifelong animal admirer and always aspires to spend more time outside. She recently graduated with her PhD in Biology & Society, after completing her interdisciplinary dissertation work that combined elements from a variety of disciplines: conservation and human psychology, animal behavior, social science, environmental ethics, and human-animal interactions. In particular, her work focused on anthropomorphism and conservation messaging in zoos. She currently works at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden as the Graduate Program Manager for the Advanced Inquiry Program, a partnership between the Zoo and Miami University in Ohio.
